Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

That is terrific! One of my friends has a husband who prunes everything into balls regardless of species. Like living in lollipop land! She can't afford to leave him or have him killed.

LOL @ Andrea! The most non-natural shape for a shrub, eh? Still, it does set off that spike of rose nicely! Great find and capture!

yeah I loved andrea's comment too. This is a real Marilyn shot, because of the subject, ie finding such bold unusual 'statements' right in the middle of your walks; and because of the way you let it take over the shot, ka-boom. On paper, some would say you break the rules; but in your hands, these big bulging shots are completely natural and very bold, fun and powerful. This is like a big submarine surfacing and ploughing its way through the town...and that one little flower is just perfect! It couldn't be in a more perfect spot. This image is big, bulging and lots of fun...
