Description

I dedicate this luscious red rose to myself and all the Gemini people. Tomorrow is my birthday and I want to be optimistic, even if this morning at 4.00 I was waked by an earthquake shake, this time coming not from Emilia, but from northern Veneto, my region. It wasn't very strong, about 4.1, but the problem is that it looks I'm surrounded. Anyway I turned and fell asleep a few minutes later. Flavia told me she did the same. When one can't do anything about something, the best thing is kissing (virtually) one's ass and going on doing whatever one was doing. After this bit of philosophical thought, I thank you for your kind comments.

lol on your philosophic thought of 'kissing your ass' to comfort yourself after tremors. Again, I hope these stop and that no one is hurt...I can't imagine sitting through an earthquake, as we just don't get them much in the United States Midwest. It must be enormously unsettling, as it's happening from the ground up, and there isn't much you can do but sit and bear it. Re your birthday, I have half the dedi done, but I've been so overwhelmed since coming home (a death, lots of work, etc) that it won't be up till sometime in the next week or so. (I promise it will be this month, I just couldn't do it this week. Sometimes you come home and whoosh: You're hit in the face.) But in the meantime, since this was the day before: Happy birthday, and it's a big blast of a rose against solar yellows and some greens. Actually you've postworked it to an almost digital painting, where the sun caused a kind of melt of everything. Lots of fun, very vivid, and 'hot'. Visually hot, meaning you use hot colors. It's about summer, now, not spring (and it feels like the heat we're having right now, in the Midwest). Big bold and vivid.
