Description
Mon sang a tâché l’échiquier
Je me suis mise à pleurer

The English version:
I remember being invited to a "party" as the English say
This happened under the starry sky
The room had no ceiling, the floor was tiled like a checkerboard
The walls were encrusted with gems, wine, delicious
It was a summer evening
We were two, no, three
The Goat-King was watching
It was His House and His Idea
A life-size chessboard waiting
I had not planned to play with this charming young man, dressed in black and a white little shirt
Under the top hat, his flirtatious and carnivorous smile
I wore a red silk dress, my black hair was in a bun
The Goat-King introduced us:
"Look at how beautiful you are ... you match so well, I'm proud of myself. You both have the Devil's beauty, the Dragon's wisdom and the Monkey's cunning. You are so stunning the world could fall at your feet. Please, now come and place yourself, the game shall start ... "
My opponent intrigued me
He whispered something in my ear, darted his tong inside twice and then went to the other side of the chessboard
My opponent was getting it up
I think he was eager to play
Did he want my skin or my soul, perhaps even both of them, who knows?
The game began as rain started pouring
We were soaked
The Goat-King was laughing
My opponent was approaching
Pawn against pawn, he continued to get it up
I took him his fool, he took me my jumper
I stumbled on the board that had become sticky
I did not know or rather did not want to play no more
I do not know what exactly happened but I fell
My blood stained the chessboard
My vision was blurred
I saw my opponent reach me while I was bleeding
I started to cry
Had I lost, had I won?
I do not remember, I can not remember
The Goat-King looked at me with compassion and wisdom
Checkmate
Or stalemate?
I prefer to forget ...
