Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

It's sad that people abuse these loving creatures. Such beautiful boys!

I am not sure.... Great they got along later.

Wonderful shot, Andrea. A pity Dougie was bitten, and glad at the end of the visit, they all feel comfortable by each other.

Your title sums it up perfectly Andrea, lovely shot.

Marvelous capture of these two Andrea. I'm glad to hear they finally were comfortable with each other. There is no possible excuse that can ever justify abuse of an animal.

Dougie is a beautiful boy isn't he. I have a new law for people that are cruel to pets, it goes something like this. They are placed in a small locked room with nowhere to go FACING ME WITH AN IRON BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They both have such looks of trepidation! I'm glad they got comfy with each other. :)

Hail fellow, well met? A look of some apprehension on the faces of these newly introduced doggies. And, Jack Russells are inherently dangerous.

Who can you trust, says Dougie. Picture is worth a thousand words.

My sentiments exactly to what Ronoir said they are all just cowards and want to pick on something smaller than them but anyway this is an awesome capture of them the look in their eyes say's it all.

I love the "I am ok if you are" look on their faces :o)

I like your photo and both dogs eyes. I also like the title but always thought that Ralph was a large dog. Maybe because all of your other dogs being so low to the ground.

The apprehension is cleary marked in their expressions. What a nice friend Ralphie was to show his guest around. So nice to hear they became buddies in the end. Now just have to wonder if Rosie became a tad put out because she wasn't the center of attention for awhile and decided not to join in. Hehehehe.

I'm almost caught up on entire page of your gallery---if bells go off in your computer, you'll know why! Anyway, it's a great capture of two dogs who are comfortable but not entirely, but they look like they have enough bond between them to have a good time. Two angles, two directions of gazes, a little caution in each face, but relaxed. Only a dog lover could see that. Lovely shot, and glad they got along in the end. (It would be great if you found them sending text-mails from here on out. The whole concept of a dog with an iPhone is mindboggling...) Lovely capture, Andrea.
