Description

Well we're just about finished with our tour of Bodrum Castle.( collective sigh of relief !!).As we make our way down to the courtyard a few final views from the ramparts. Tomorrow we'll leave the Castle, passing some of the huge collection of amphora that sparked the rebirth of Bodrum Castle. That will not be the end of our Turkish adventure though, on Saturday you'll need a stout pair of walking shoes as we'll be climbing the hill to the windmills..it's worth it for the views....honest!

beautiful imagery. nice piece of history. you must have had a great time. I have to say though, for some reason, beats me. the top image made me think of Gilligan's Island. Very strange.

Beautiful 3 images. These show how well defensible this site is, and explains why the Turks were so interested in having it given away by treaty rather than by acquired by (costly) assault (which they could well have lost). These 3 give a nice 180 degree pan over the command the castle has over the harbour and even some of the shore. The builders sure chose their location well and knew how to build on it. You've done a nice job with this series (no collective sigh of relief from my corner). Now, where did I last see my walking shoes? They're here, somewhere, under a pile or other of diverse things. Keep up the good work! Looking foreward to your next historical exhibits! :-)

No warships in the marina then lol When I was there, the thing that stuck in my mind was the fact this rather big warship was parked there! I took a photo but... lost! These are great shot once more....on a clear day, you can see forever!.. lol This has been a fine mini series mate, bring them on! And I loved your comment on the Sparrowhawk LOL Rob
