Description

This is a test of a layered material for my Dutch Lodestar in Vue - using "alpha" masks to render the bare metal underside of fuselage and wings with a more reflective shader while keeping the matt surface on the upper paintwork. Thought I'd throw in a volcano too... Just wouldn't be the "Ring of Fire" without a volcano lurking around somewhere. Lodestar and volcano modelled in Shade. Thanks for viewing and comments

I really like the title..."Nether Regions". Very interesting solution using alpha masks. I'd like to explore that sometime. It has a subtle and very effective result.

Very good image. I too like the alpha mask treatment. Metalwork seems very hard to pull off on aircraft images but you've got it just right.
