Description
Taken from an outdoor table at a restaurant in Aptos, California. Aptos is a pretty little coastal town just south of Santa Cruz with a lot of architecture like this that gives it a Mediterranean feel - particularly on sun-drenched days like this one.

I love this! It seems to be a convergence of your Bryce work and your photography. Does that make sense? I see the same hand at work, and it's brilliant!

Superb Claude. Great subject for your special postwork.

I like how the HDR really brought out the vibrant colors and the bit of softness lends well to the otherwise hard edges of the scene. I like extreme HDR so this one is pretty cool.

I've been watching your postwork for a while now, and it's fascinating and quite luminous. You're giving grain and "molecular agitation" to your surfaces. A lot of energy being released. You're giving very strong highlights to darker areas, as in the wall (or whatever it is) in the front---quite active, almost phosphorescent. And while the hues, in real life, may be saturated and bright, your postwork makes them almost fairy-tale-ish---something from a folktale, with such vivid trim, roof tiles, doors etc. And you've caught a 'classic' angle for these piled-up vistas, where the overlapping homes make an angular pastiche, like a still life put together for the viewer. Fascinating, vital work, and the photograph itself is dramatic and playful in all its angles and juxtapositions.
