Description
This little fellow made a much-too-early bid for freedom from the nesting box in my garden. I nearly stood on him while weeding. Unsure what to do, I picked him up where upon he flew, brick-like to the ground. Luckily he didn't hurt himself.
He didn't want to go back in the box, but a persuasive thumb up his bottom got him back in.
Managed to get the lower shot of him six days later when he'd fledged properly. Not sure if he recognised me or not!
Thanks for looking & have a great weekend!

Glad he made it,lovely expression on his face.

Very kind of you to take care for him. And thanks for the nice series of photos! I wonder what kind of bird it is. They look so strange with the wide mouth and beak in the center when they are young. And older, all that's left is the beak. Keep up the good work! :-)

Great shot and story.

awesome rescue. thumbs up....no bums intended. hehehe. I am more impressed with people who take the more difficult task of rescuing animals than those who hunt for trophies.

OHH SO lovely it is and I am glad it was rescued. Thanks for your comments. In the forest we saw a way too young bird trying to climb a tree to get home. Unfortunately we couldnt help it up, as the tree was huge and we couldnt rescue it either so far from our home. We just hoped the parents would hear it cry. Atleast we could hear the parent calling.
