I think it's great how each bird has it's own special place within you and your fond memories of LJ...we all miss him, but I can't believe how strong you have been, through the ups and downs and it's a real inspiration to others who have lost some one precious to them ! Stay strong and keep up the great work Carol ! ~Cheers~

a touching image to your long and great love, and to all the journeys you went through for it. And what you've done with all these birds---I don't know if I can describe it, but they all seem to be part of a larger ocean of energies and powers. All their varying coats and textures and lights and patterns make this really moving confluence of energies, like they're united in a much larger Whole. They're in a huge 'dance' together, they meld. And your choice of beautiful wood---like a driftwood sacred-circle---unifies them all, even harmonizing with their hues, textures, etc. Your dreamcatcher is like a web, with that beautiful 'mandala' in the center (made of feathers). It's so opulent, Carol. And above it, the eagle...overseeing everyone, defining the entire piece. I don't want to forget your backgrounds...your background has your typically light-filled energies, morphing back there like silks...and the ground is as much spirits and mists as it is soil, which---as in many of your animal images---feels like the fundament of the soul and heart, swirling beneath it all. It's a cornucopia (literally a horn of plenty, "copious horn," which, in myth, is supposed to bring one what one wishes), and it's made of beautiful wood which seems to snake out of the bowels of the earth...You've celebrated a long, deep relationship with a confluence of spirits and creatures, with a primal circle and sky, all resting on pure fundamental energies. I can't think of a better vision for LJ and for love: Because, in bringing all this power into one place, you're showing what's huger and more universal than any loss could be. That isn't an easy 'comfort', nor a glib 'out': It's just a truth. Because we work through pain here on earth, but love's depth is so huge, we're constantly reminded of something much bigger than ourselves. And that's what I feel in this image---something bigger than ourselves and than our pain. I hope you feel that too; you sure communicate it in this image. A beautiful tribute to LJ, to love, and to the mystery of 'messengers' around us. And to fathers everywhere too. Beautiful, and very touching.

It is truly beautiful Carol, a wonderful tribute to LJ. I still think of you as being one of the lucky ones. The two of you had something rare, powerful and real, and not many people can say they ever had that.

This is a very beautiful tribute to LJ, the birds look so majestic gathered together like this and your brushwork and colouring have given them such a beautiful touch. Your prose describes them all so well and it is great that they have touched you so profoundly over the years.
