Description
Ichthyovenator is known from a single type species, Ichthyovenator laosensis. The generic name is derived from Greek (ichthys), "fish", and Latin venator, "hunter", in reference to a piscivorous lifestyle. Ichthyovenator is the first confirmed Asian spinosaur It was around 9 meters long ( 29,5 feet ), and was related to Baryonyx and Suchomimus.

Excellent scene and very cool new dinos. I still wonder about those spines. I think they are for muscle and tendon to attach to, to help support the large size and horizontal stance. I see a number of mammals, at least, with tall backbone spines and they don't have 'fins', but rather humps and high backs. Of course I'm not a biologist, so... It would be awesome of course to find a fossil with body impressions left behind, someday maybe.

you might do this critter again as you maybe have read that Spinosaurus was most likely an active swimming hunter and that the heron-like hunting style for the Spino's and their relactive as they ofter are pictured is obsolite. or just I would like to see a swimming Spino by your hand.
