Description

This image was inspired by a danish commercial for holidays at Thailand. The atmosphere was really tricky because of the clouds. I found it very difficult to make realistic, puffy cumulus clouds in Vue. It always ends up like something sad and grey, but I think I finally found a way to do it. Comments on the trees and foliage is very welcome since I don't know if it looks realistic. Thanks for viewing :)

sand in my shoes, very good picture!Maybe you should do something at the sand-texture in the foreground and the palmtrees (the stems look a little bit too perfect). But so far a very good picture !!

Amazing work, Thomas. This looks like a scene a 10-minute walk from here along the Gulf of Saim, only much cleaner. Beautiful work. :o)

very good sky and lighting! great water and sanddunes, except the one in the foreground (looks more like a desert texture to me)

I'm working at the sand-texture to the front dune but no matter what I try... I don't think it looks as good as it does now, but I'll keep trying :) Thanks for all the wonderfull comments!

For the sand in the foreground, try giving it a more grained texture, or reducing the lines in the texture you are using noe, Maby you can try using a new terrainmap to give it more structure and then place it over the foreground beach.. Otherwise great work..

I lived in Hawaii for some 12 years,I worked as a coconut tree trimmer for at least 6 of those years,I have over 2,000 climbs, these are the best Ive seen,I especialy like the old brown fronds very realistic and true to form, call me when you want them trimmed,it would be an honor. fixornot
