Description
While I was putting this scene together, it reminded me of when I was a little tike (guess about 7 or so). I was small for my age and had hair that was nearly white and fairly thin. My neighbors, two rotten boys, would torment me on the bus going home, calling me a little old lady.
I never let them know that it bothered me, which is what bullies revel in (I understood people very well at a very young age--girls seem to have a knack for this sort of stuff). Instead I used my buddy, my 100 pound collie, Laddie, to help me even out the situation. Dogs are really smart and very loyal, and my Laddie adored me. He also was very well trained by me.
So one day, while I was in my yard, the rotten boys started their tormenting. Laddie was with me, and I just pointed to the bullies and said to Laddie "sik'em boy," and he went right for them. They went screaming down the road and into their house.
Upshot--those little creepies NEVER bothered me again. You see, bullies are really gutless wonders. Punch them in the nose and they will leave you alone.
Thanks for dropping by. Hope all are well.
And remember, punch those bullies in the nose!

Bullies, yup they were/are cowards. I'm only sorry so many of us had to endure them for so long. I'm glad to hear Laddie stood by you, he sounds like a wonderful friend.

What a wonderful image Barb, you really went all out on this one. I loved reading your story of how Laddie helped you to stand up to those rotten bullies. It's a shame everyone can't have a Laddie around in their time of need. For me when I was little and an older bullie at school tried to pick on me I used my lunchbox to bash him in the head with and put him down. Strange thing he never came close to me again after that.
