Description
this is really different for me...a still life of food i made and a 'product review'...i started making my own bread about a year ago by hand. the whole process would take practically the whole day...mix..rise...knead...rise...shape and roll and rise and then bake...omg...good exercise but very tiring...well as many i'm pinching every penny thanks to our wonderful economy and a loaf of bread at the store cost around 3.50usd and it's full of crap...preservatives...bad things for your body. i researched bread makers and found this one on a web site with a 'hot' place for a name...it's the breadman tr520 and it cost about 60.usd. made in china of course...i read all the reviews and if you have the time you should read them...it is a real sign of how spoiled people are. it had mostly bad reviews and some good ones...the good ones basically said it did a great job for little money and guess what...i agree with them 300 percent. i can mix the ingredients while my breakfast is cooking push 1 button and it does everything else even cooks the bread and omg it is way better than the bread i made by hand or any i have 'ever' bought at the store...i use fleishmann's yeast although all the reviews and the machine calls for some special yeast and i just use regular yeast...it is awesome...and no preservatives in my 100 percent stone ground whole wheat bread...i love it and omg the smell when it cooks...and compared to 3.50usd a loaf cost about maybe 1.00usd for a loaf and is tons better...taste and nutritional...times are hard for many...back to the basics...the recipe called for eggs which after i researched egg production it's very scary. i don't ever want another egg and i stopped eating meat long long long ago...but a wonderful substitute for egg is 1 tablespoon flax seed meal with 3 tblspn of warmish water set for 3 minutes and you have even more fiber in the bread which is better for you and no icky eggs...also the machine keeps your house much cooler than if you bake it in the oven but i cooked other things today so it was hot and 106 degrees F outside...water water water my sunflowers and the grass...it looks dead...what will this do for our farmers' crops...anyway happy end of june and hope you have a great evening and tommorrow is canada day so i'll be posting something from a trip to canada...one of my favourite countries...and those 3 stones in the photo came back with me from lima peru...

this is good you have time to make it. i got a machine that will mix and knee the bread for me. I got to let it rise and i got to time it too. I got to get the oven ready and put it in the oven. it ok. i did knee the bread by hand a few times just to see how the old timers did it. machines is much better.

Great photo and write up, I have a bread maker and I must admit I have only used it once, I bought all the special ingredients the recipe book called for and it turned out awful, I have made bread many times by hand and had better results. But I will try your way and toss the bread maker cookbook I must have spent a fortune on all the ingredients it called for. We got up to 105 here today, even now at almost midnight its 92 I was waiting for it to cool off so I could go for a walk but no walk today. :( not a fan of hot weather like this. Have a happy Sunday hopefully a bit cooler.

This is excellent!! I have a bread machine.. and found a wonderful cookbook for it. It is called " The Best Lowfat No Sugar Bread Machine Cookbook Ever" by Madge Rosenberg. Yes the prices of food are becoming unreal... We received some rain so it is a little cooler here now. I have one chicken so I get my eggs from her. Lots better than the store eggs. If I do have to buy eggs I buy the expensive ones... Some things you have to pay more for to get something worth eating. I will scrimp on something else to buy better food. It pays off in your health. Have a wonderful day, and try to stay cool. :)

Sounds like this is some very good bread. Most of the stuff that is sold in stores isn't worth eating.A fine shot.

After your description I'd like to taste it too. Certainly, nothing is ever equal to fresh home-made stuff. Agree with you all the way.

Great shot! And thank you for the useful information! We have made our own bread for years - decades - now in various bread machines. I bake a loaf at least once a week, and it is SOOOOOOOOO good! Grainy and hearty and so unlike store-bought breads! But I often use an egg in a loaf, which I want to get away from, as my wife and I are seriously trying to switch from our lacto-ovo vegetarian diet to completely vegan (after streaming and watching the film from Netflix called FORKS OVER KNIVES - great film, highly recommended). Your suggestion of substituting flaxseed meal will come in very handy! Thanks again! Love your composition here! Good health to you and yours! ~Robert
