Amazing that you still have grass with all those outrageous temperatures.

I am glad that your home did not get any damage and that you are safe. there could of been a temporary gust that toppled this tree

Always sad to see, but thank goodness it was not closer to your house.

Lovely shot but what a shame to lose a tree like that.

Ouch... We lost quite a few with IKE.. I miss them too. And their shade.

Glad to see it missed the house! If it's a hard wood, it can be used when the heat leaves town for the season.

Glad you are safe! A couple weeks ago we had some straight-line winds come through here that scared the usually un-scare-able me. The trees that were left in the woods from logging because they were too small or had too many branches (some as tall as 90-100ft!) were bent over so far that their tops were just feet from the ground. Never seen them like that ever. None of mine broke but on the neighboring properties and on the roads next to ours many many huge trees broke. One of the many reasons I had my woods timbered out was because more and more trees were falling in storms. Seeing what some neighbors are dealing with I am again glad I did that rather than have piles and piles of useless broken trees. The logger as a favor also cleared some trees (good ones are left and doing great) that were within reach of the house and possible targets for storm damage due to rot and previous damage.

Glad it missed the house. It's sad to see the trees get killed like that. Trees are already under attack from so many sources, bugs, heat, fires, etc. Mother Nature sure has been nasty this year to alot of places.
