Description

Joseph of Nazareth, Jesus' father, in the New Testament is described as a carpenter. The greek word used is "tekton" and correctly translated would mean "constructor". This meant he worked with all types of material, wood, stone, metal etc. Practically 3D modeling! Which means if he was around today, he could easily have been a member of Rendo. Also Nazareth, was close to Sepphoris (Tzipori in Hebrew). So Joseph had a high probability of being involved in its rebuilding, which Herod Antipas made into his capital for Perea. Jesus himself might have assisted his father, in work there. Maybe that's how he came into contact with Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's business manager (Luke 8: 3), who was contributing to support the ministry of Jesus.

I like the warm color and textures. The history is great too. Is ths a real worker or is an Historic place where they recreate the way of life of old times?

Sorry for this late reply. But the answer is yes. This place is called the Nazareth Village Project, in Israel, where they are recreating the Nazareth Village and living in the same way as they did in the ancient days.

Fantastic history lesson, Noel! (I'm trying to picture Jesus as a Rendo member - I'm having a little trouble getting my head around that thought, but, I agree, He certainly could be. I wonder what His username would be....) :) Great shot here. I really like the warm tones of the photo. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, this is a real worker, dear Neto, in the actual and historic city of Nazareth, where an entire village lives exactly as they did 2000 years ago. Here is a link to their site --http://nazarethvillage.com/home.php They are also on facebook at this link -- http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nazareth-Village-Friends/204585006325465
