Description
I realize it's an unorthodox presentation, but after spending considerable time on a beautiful collage that would not save small enough to make Rendo's 512k limit, it left me little choice. There are six images making up this stitching, and I had to rip the resolution out of them in order to make the upload. Also being new to the digital age and oblivious to image stitching two years ago, when these were taken. There were some large gaps to overcome. I tried my hand at a healing brush in some areas like the lower right corner and under the words "Coyote Buttes", but I guess the image is to big for that to be an effective tool...lol! Enough of the creative woes though. In the future when I may want to stitch something together, I'll be sure to get a little trigger happy! ;~)
NOW ON TO THE IMAGE! The lower left insert is a view from outside as I came down the other mesa. Thinking all the while it was another large island of teepees too...was I ever wrong!
In the insert you can see the white sandstone of "Top Rock Mesa", it is also seen in the pano just right of the middle banner. The notch seen in the pano upper left is the notch viewed in the insert.
Now the notch I'm squeezing through is much narrower than the one seen here. Yesterday's post has a better perspective on that. The Sandstone towers above me on both sides and before reaching the precipice I had an inkling of what was truly hidden here. Reaching the end of the passageway I was truly enlightened. So massive and immense, it left me awestruck!
The sand is so steep from the notch down to the oak tree directly under me. I would imagine you could take a snowboard ride. Another interesting feature is the sand dune under the overhang and that swirling pattern going left of it. I'm going to stop rambling right there and allow you a chance to explore the image. Hope you will enjoy this wonder as much as I did.
To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!!
Thank you all that viewed my last image below.

I'll say it again, "Had to rip the resolution out of these"! Will post a couple of the smaller images that make this one in the future to show off some nicer details!

that 512 does hurt, but prevents people borrowing the image with the quality it has at the 512 and posting somewhere else as theirs. i almost get a vertigo feeling on that larger capture, nice job..

turned out really well. I found that Adobe photoshop elements has a good option for stitching. I have software also for 360's that I want to try out soon

You present these so well I feel I could be there looking through your eyes, in the films of Cowboy and Indian country of my youth. The glorious shapes and colours bring Rabbie Burn's poem to mind - Till a' the seas gang dry, my Dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun! O I will luve thee still, my Dear, While the sands o' life shall run.

As I am sweltering in the MN heat wave I notice this image does not appear the least bit HOT to me. Just love the red coloring and the striation in the rocks. Would love to wander around in there - looks cool.
