Description

There's the Flag. Alone. Aloof. Aloft. Apart. Above. Its a message of its own. Its a song of its own... that the country was shaped by those who dared dream... who chose to stay above, stay aloft, uncluttered, unfettered, forge justice, move radical, pave visions, celebrate differences, embrace equality,... innovators, activists, entrepreneurs, law-makers, shapers, shakers, dissidents,... some saw their dreams, some lost their lives... May God bless this country, may His presence here never be lost. (I will be traveling for few days, so I wish my dear friends at Rendo the best in all they do. The picture was taken at Union Square, 17 East, New York)

A beautiful capture and such poetic words... excellent my friend. I only hope that one day those words will ring true again. But I fear until we change our politics they are just beautiful words to describe a dream we once believed in.

The flag certainly represents freedom. To me, born so long after the struggles to become a free nation, I find myself reflecting on what a life of freedom means for us - compared to the lives of others who proclaim they are also free. We, in the US, have so much more freedom that other free nations and, indeed, a totally different world that those who have chosen other governmental structures. I am proud of my country, in spite of our faults. At least we have the freedom to fail, the freedom to change and the freedom to say so.

You have a lovely way with words and they make me feel more patriotic. It's a great shot and it does match your words.
