They are used for storing surfboards, towels etc for the beach. They are a status symbol too for wealthy families. You can't build them any more, so the only people who have them are those that have had them handed down through the generations. They are now worth $100,000's each. Each one of them has it's own mansion further up the hill! Andrew

Oh, I do remember them - when I lived in Victoria; I actually knew somebody with one of them, (I wonder whatever happened to them ;) and if somebody should be strapped for cash, they can always be auctioned off! I think those fat tracks in the sand, are the raking and sifting from the local Councils beach-cleaner vehicle? fine image, BB

A superb pic Andrew and I note the one you posted earlier is just next door to the red steps! Excellent POV.

They speak to an older time, a time of affluence for some, much like it is now but today's affluence is seldom made visible, instead we are not even permitted to see what we cannot have, LOL!

Even better than the last shot Andrew. It's a bit of a sign of the greedy times when what is essentially a garden shed on a beach can cost $100,000. Seen some for sale here in Cornwall for over £25,000 so they must be a bargain then. If they are mainly used for storing surf boards and towels, buy a Ute, money saved :)

Yeah! I guess, unlike a ute, these old things are worth their weight in gold and appreciate in value!

Great angle Andrew! I wish they had them here - and other places I go to. One thing that always stops me from going into the water is the fear that somebody lifts my clothes while I am in the water. I like the fact that they are all different colors - easier to identify yours I guess!
