Nice captures Evie, and I have no idea what the name of the plant is. I'm certain someone here will come up with it rather quickly.

Has it exhibited any unusual behavior? If not then.. Yes.. I agree with everyone else.. it's a plant! But don't know if it's a weed or not..lol. Hugs Dave :^)

type of seed found in wild bird seed. the heads make more seeds and drop and make more seed plants that make and drop more seeds. its all over the ground near my bird feeders.

Very cool capture, it does look like one of those types of plants and MrsLubner described - as I've seen them around my parents bird feeder

LOL I think they are corn plants. Did you have a bird feeder close by? Whatever it is, it's pretty. I would leave it there and see what happens. I have some of those coming up in my yard where I empty my parrots' food. There are corn seeds in it which they don't like.

Looks more like a form of Grass. Based on the flower/seed head, I'd treat it as a weed if I did not plant it, as it could take over everything around it! :{

Thank you one and all I knew if I came here someone would have an idea we have a few birds they have taken up homestead behind the shutters close by where this plant is we seen the babies the other day now I thought to myself take your babies and go away birds but they're quite comfortable so the seeds from birds makes some sense no bird feeder however: thank you /merci/ another very hot day for us I guess I will spend most of the day in the pool aloha!!

I'm pretty sure that that is corn my dear....If you have a bird feeder and by chance your feeding them ground bird seed then more than likely their is corn in the seeds...Put it this way...In about 8 weeks if it develops an ear of corn then then you'll know for sure..(smiles)...

Ah yes, the triffid. A carnivorous plant that can walk about and run amok in the world killing people willy-nilly for food. Although, they're oil makes for an excellent salad dressing - so say the vegan zombies of Dystopia. Just kidding.

I read a few of these... was guessing iris or corn but mrslubner sounds like she knows what she's talking about... at least when I'm in trouble with rendo she sounds like she knows what she's talking about - lol I read your homepage and it said your hubby passed away, then you got married in 92(?) and then you mention an X.... I just thought I'd tell ya I'm not sure if I have the info right in my brain - lol.... you might want to read it and see if it's right.... the way I see it right now, you had a divorce last - am I right? .... it's hard to keep people straight here, so many changes going on in people's lives = lots of heartache - that's another reason why I posted to positive images of my life..... so, this plant makes ya wonder, Is a bird intelligent enough to drop a seed there so it has food for later? .... Dinosaurs were in the bird family and lived here a hell of a lot longer and appear to be stupid - but then you have the parrots that can imatate - I think the bird dropped it for later - I think it is intelligent.

It adds green where other plants are too shy to exhibit.
