Description
A year or so ago a photo of two slave children were discovered in someone’s attic, and it was auctioned off. From the tiny print that was published in an article about the photo, I decided to do a painting of it. Because of the size of the published print, some details were lost. Detailing the folds of their tattered oversized clothing, and the corn shucks and grass field was insane. It wasn’t until I started painting the children’s faces that I really considered their situation and truly wondered whatever happened to them. No one knows if Brady is the name and signature of the photographer, or the owner of the children.
