Description

The ME-262 jet was 100 mph faster than the planes that faced it. But, it still had to return to base. Allied fighters, with their huge numerical superiority would orbit German airfields, waiting for returning planes. Chuck Yeager shot down a ME-262 in these exact circumstances while flying a P-51 Mustang. This image is fantasy, it does not represent an actual historical event. Bazze's Me-262 and P-47 Thunderbolt. Background image is blimp hanger at Tilamook, Washington air museum, with added camoflage painting on hanger.

Like the old adage... "Always be nice to the people you meet on the way up... you might meet them again on the way down..." I think you've got the lighting just about right for the overcast. Interesting blend job on the photo too.

Good image! As a teenager, I knew the man who shot down Nowotny as he was coming in to land!
