While I went to school for art, I still consider myself an aspiring artist still trying to find a direction. I started off drawing in pencil which transitioned to charcoal and then ended up here in th digital realm. I've never been great with color and struggled for some time trying to find a way to do half my artwork by traditional means and the rest through digital. After various failures trying to scan my sketches or trying out wacom tablets, I found Poser and began my current phase.
I've been using Poser for about four years but still feel like a newbie compared to many of the artist here on Renderosity. I use Poser primarily for the composition of the figure I wish to work with. I then move to Photoshop and with the help of Filter Forge I begin to "throw paint at the canvas" so to speak.
None of this would be possible without the critiques and comments from the Renderosity community, and the Vendors/Artists who provide the amazing products that are the tools neccesary for me to make art. Especially...Godin, Ironman13,P3Design,-Wolfie-, and Propschick.

I'm such a sucker for face paint. I love that. She strikes me as being somewhat detached, distant here too. Really cool. I just did a quick browse through your gallery too and all the effects you use on your models' skin is really amazing and unique. Also? I think I was going to buy this hair a bazillion times and never did. Think you just sold it to me for them. Great portrait, very compelling character.

Hey Thanks ZigZag! A few things I've noticed through my time working in Poser. As far as expressions go, the more subtle the better. Things can look bad really quickly if you start spinning those dials. 2. I have had the Chilly Hair for awhile but have found that it doesn't look right on most of my characters. I really like the look of the hair, but just a heads up, it seems to require a specific face to really look good. Anyway...thanks for the view and comments.

Excellent portrait, realistic and 'soulful'. The additional painting is nice, but doesn't add a lot, the portrait is very nice by itself (please, don't take it bad, this is not negative, just my opinion).

Thanks everyone for the views/comments. Also teecee, no worries, I really appreciate the feedback. Honestly, I think I feel the same. The render came out looking so good I had a hard time adding anything at all to the pic. Usually, I have 4 drafts per image, this one had 12. I was kinda fighting with it the whole time. Anyway...again thanks again for the comments/views.
