Description
You guys wouldn't believe the crap I've had to put up with... a 7-8 year old system crunching away on Poser 2012, trying to get a render out... just before it reboots for no reason at all!!!
Enough of this, I can't afford it, but I gotta get out of this rut! Sick to death of computers that don't last for ever.
Anyways... here's the new spec... and I aint going with the on board graphics either!!

LOL I know that feeling hun you might have to check you log files to see what the crash was, usually when it reboots its because its protecting its self from a crash. It could be as simple as you needing a new bio battery to well god knows but good luck!!!

Well if restructuring was like that... ;o) I think the i7 is a good choice (I have one my self) how ever I always stuck to nVidia Graphics boards because a lot of other brands gave me headaches in the past (especially with professional CAD-Programms). The reboots could also origin from an old and tired Powersupply (I had this several times in the past years). Sometimes you just need to replace the Powersupply and everything works again.. ;o)

Great render, The pose is great and i find the expression (for some obscure reasons) very sexy. Well done. When I see the specs, it seems that you will have a superb machine !

An Exceptional Quality Render,
mauk
Excellent render!!!!!A council take an Apple iMac or Mac Pro...

gorgeous image as always :) About the computer, all I know that for a perfect quick render a good processor and videocard is required. So a computer with a i7 processor and a good videocard is the main point, now look at their prices :)

Ah me, nothing lasts for ever ...

I have to agree with crunch01, look at the AMD processors too. I always used Intel but my last two machines are AMD based. Currently running a X6 3.8Ghz machine with 16GB DDR and it works like a dream for a much better price. So good luck on your choice, you can't really go wrong with this kind of specs. Great looking pin-up as always.

Superb image!! Same disease, same medecine (5 month ago)! 16 Gb ram is a good choice. I only took 8, not enought sometimes. I7 is really awesome for renders. I totally agree with AlexanderDoppler concerning Nvidia cards :-)

No matter what you buy today, in five years you will need a new one! At least up to now, I've changed my Mac every 5 years. So, don't waste «too much» money with all the best of the best today, but only the right amount to work in a decent way for 5 years (needless to say that I consider Mac OS more reliable than Windows).

Love the render!! As for the system, well I've always been a huge fan of AMD processors. I've had systems with intel and I've has systems with AMD and in my experience AMD has always out performed intel, but of course there are fans of both. I would have to agree with Crunch on the RAM, the more the merrier! ;) I'm looking to upgrade my own system later this year, well I'm looking to buy a new one and pass this one on to my husband. The 3 main things I'll be paying attention to are RAM, graphics card and processor (AMD of course), the rest I'll leave to the experts at our local computer store. :)

or you could just get an Apple product and be done with it! gorgeous gal, too....

Very lovely!!! Nice material!!!!!

Wonderful render, excellent!!!

I have a off the shelf Quad core AMD, it has no problem with Poser. Nice work here.

Nice image, and CPU notwithstanding, a nice set of machine specs!

Beautiful, as usual! ;) As for the computer, all that sounds GREAT! Double check the graphics card (built-in should be fine, but try for NVIDIA (better for artistic rendering) as Radeon works better for gaming. Also, double check the power supply. I use an i5 with 600 watt power supply and I'm not sure if 650 is enough...Lastly, try to get liquid cooling instead of a fan, if you can. It keeps my system VERY cool when rendering. :)

my computer is 3 years old, but I'm running poser6... I don't speak computer so I can't help you - my computer would start argueing with me if I did - lol
fransjorgen
Perfect , as usual . Many thanks for creating and sharing . Frans

I always thought your best renderings were with poser 6. The lighting in your renderings were better. Just my too cents.

Great looking girl and image! As to the computer specs, I only even understood half of it! I must upgrade this old laptop one day...
LivingPixels
graet you'll be able to burn dvd'sand watch movies while it renders without breaking a sweat i5 is pretty cool and the other hardware now you can run the world my friend as well if ya want to BTW superb image deane!!!!

An excellent image with marvellous lighting and great posing. My computer is one from Noel Leemings made for gaming with the very best Mother Board and it renders so quickly. The software shop couldn't match it for the price or the capacity. I've had it for about 3 years now so your specs look better for capacity. It is annoying that they don't last longer.

Awesome image Deane! lovely render! I'm sure you create great images on any system Hell I don't even know what comp I have,..it makes pictures that's all I know! Good luck on your new one!

great posing, especially with the hand/head part.

I got my Dell about a year ago, and already know I need something with a graphics card that can handle renders, better. Enough RAM, but it still cuts off in mid render from heat. Even sitting on a block of ice ... lol. Awesome job, though, with the image. :D
