But those old pre-dreadnought ships had guns pointing just about EVERYWHERE... didn't they? Would not want this beauty crossing my T anytime! The model looks fantastic - I love the detail of the officers on the bridge too. An amazing time in history.

@Alice: of course, the Western powers had taught Japan well...and by forcing that isolationist society to open its gates up to the world against its will, the West had put the Japanese on the defensive from the beginning - in a big way. That whole history from 1853 to 1945 is a powerful argument in favor of the "Prime Directive"...
