Il gruccione (Merops apiaster) è un variopinto uccello dell'ordine dei Coraciiformi nella famiglia dei Meropidae. Secondo alcuni contende la palma del piumaggio europeo più bello al martin pescatore e alla ghiandaia marina.

Difficoltà elevata per questo tipo di foto , dove è necessario mettere preventivamente a fuoco il il punto probabile di passaggio e ,ascoltare il suo cinguettio che , con l'aumento di frequenza avverte di cominciare a scattare e sperare che sia presente al momento giusto , data anche la velocità elevata ( aspettare di vederlo nel mirino equivale a trovare il fotogramma vuoto , ( tempo di scatto 1/1600 ).
