My heart goes out to you in this time of mourning. I, too, have lost a loved one to cancer and understand the difficulties in watching them suffer. And no, it is not foolish to create something at times like this - it is in our nature to attempt to deal with the pain of death with the creative force within us. Some people make love, others create art, others (believe it or not) cook massive meals. It is natural and normal. Again, my heart goes out to you. The image is a magnificent tribute to the man you loved.

Rudy, nothing foolish about creating this now. My heart goes out to you and your family. Thank you for posting such a great tribute. ---- Scott.

Your father would be very proud if he could see this, I'm positive. Rest assured, though, that right now he'll be looking at landscapes even better than Hobbit's! Take it easy.

My deepest sympathy and what a lovely idea to create this fine image for his memory! ...And when the angels saw mankind in heaven they bursted out in a song of joy.... You will see him in the afterlife.

So sorry, Rudy,... I can understand all. I was about to lose my father, and I've lost two friends of mine in a car crash, last year. I also know... every single word sounds absurd and I can't find anything to say to explain all that I really feel, and all that I really want. - Affectionately Yours, Carlo

I lost my dad in similar circumstances just over a year ago. At the time I hadn't the avenue to express my grief that I do now, through this great community that I have had the privilege to join at Renderosity. You honour your Father in a fine and unique way, and should feel proud that you have this wonderful ability to express your feelings so profoundly. My thoughts are with you...

Live your life well and honourably in his memory. There can be no higher tribute.

The most "foolish" thing to do now would be to say "I understand" as nobody can really know what you feel or have been through. But I would like to say may good wishes for you to stregnthen, and manage to carry the burden of being able to see him only when you close your eyes and open your heart to your memories together. It is a pity but life has it's ways. Please accept my sorrows for your dear loss Rudy.

My deepest condolences to you and your beloved ones. You and your dad are in my thoughts. I'm shure he's in a better place now - joining the angels high above us. And he'll always be around you to guide you wherever you are. May your art give you the strength to get over this bereavement.

it happened to me. my father took about 12 months. In the meantime we did manage a transoceanic flight on the BA Concorde and then the Chunnel, even though he was very sick. You see he was an aviator since 1939, and always wanted to break the sound barrier, and we did it together. It was wonderful. Now, I only have the fond memories, it was a high point for both of our lives.

I felt lot of pain too when I lost my father. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathy. Your work always great.

Haven't visited your pages lately Rudy...and my deepest sympathies. There's nothing that can replace the loss of a loved one..except possibly for life which seeps in through cracks and fills vaccum in us! Know that his soul now exists in love and peace! His presence might not be there...but his love persists with you all...of that I'm sure!

This image is really heartbreaking....I hope he was aware of your genius, as we all are!

it does not matter what every one else thinks just do what you do best and your father will be proud of you what ever you do. I'm not a good falossafur or a good speller L.O.L. but don't let any one tell when or when not too make something like this pic because the memory will always be in your heart.from a friend to a friend and heart to a heart mine goes out to you man good luck to you in your life.
