Description

While my camera is being held hostage by the camera doctor, I am going to spend some time in my favorite city in the world, Washington DC. The Smithsonian Institution contains a great deal of the visual history of the USA. Founded in 1846, the Smithsonian is the world's largest museum and research complex, consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park and nine research facilities. This photo was taken through one of the many works of art, on the grounds and gardens. You are looking at the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building and this building was the original home of the National Museum. It opened in 1881 in time for the inaugural ball of President James A. Garfield. I liked the reflection on the polished section, in the center of this piece of art. Scanned from a photo and I have no idea when it was taken. Info from the Smithsonians web site. As close as you can get to a perfect centering in this sterling capture of the Smithsonian, seen through that huge keyhole, Dana. Probably used your Konica Minolta on this one.
