Description

Looking from Corfe Castle westwards. The two main sorts of sheep in my county are these and the Dorset Down, who have usually dark faces and feet. The Dorset Horn don't have to actually have horns! A hornless strain has been developed. In the first image you can see a big group near the top of the hill: they seem oblivious to the weather. The other pic shows how recently they have been sheared, and I expect they wish they hadn't! I love the relaxed attitude of the National Trust to the dreaded 'ealth n safety issues. It is possible to wander almost anywhere as long as you read the warnings. Worth a quick zoom.

Gorgeous landscape Andrea. The lush green is a payback for so much rain.

Had to zoom to see them but they are there sure enough!! Lovely shots Andrea. Without horns you have a job to hear them coming!!!

Absolutely stunning scene, Andrea. If it were this country everything would be sealed off behind bars and orange tape, effectively killing any chance of a decent shot. I much prefer it left alone for the self-cleaning gene pool to take care of!

Lovely scenic landscape to roam about in for sheep and us humans. The national trust have 500 million tripping hazards and only 8 warning signs, so they stopped caring it seems.

A beautiful place for these sheep to roam. We have some of that breed here too. At least your farmers have waited for summer before shearing. Down here they often do a pre-lamb shear which comes about now and then they wonder why some die. Crazy.

Zoom helped find them in the first photo and a better look on the right side. Ronnie made me chuckle! :o) I liked the open attitude when I was wandering all around Great Britain!
