the eggplant is such a striking 'presence' in the midst of all those leaves. You captured its purples beautifully. And you also captured its stem (and upper leaves) very effectively: It looks like a prehistoric creature resting on top of the eggplant's fruit. Like a little bird or tiny dinosaur. Very sensual and bold. I hope it tastes as good as it looks! It's making me hungry, and it's 2:30 in the morning where I am!

Such a wonderful color your eggplant has. It looks so healthy too. A strange form to me, as here this fruit is more oblong, and not such round in shape.

Okay, now I"m STARVING, LOL!! I have never seen round eggplant! Here in New Hampshire in the US we have the longer ones. I love slicing them, placing them in a colender with a heavy plate on top to press out the bitter juices for an hour...then coating them in egg and breadcrumbs and frying them. MMMM....

Bella melanzana e bella foto ! Confesso che non mi piacciono assolutamente le melanzane , nonostante Carmen le prapri molto spesso alla maniera siciliana (lei è nata vicino ad Agrigento ).

In my younger days growing up, I just couldn't eat egg plant when we had it on the table. Maybe it was just the name that scared me. Then when I was in the military service, I was stationed in Japan. I ordered Tempura at a restaurant and there was one in particular that I thought was very good. Little did I know it was egg plant because it was covered with batter. Wow! I was missing a lot, not knowing it tasted that good. After that, I had eggplant everyday for 3 months. Love it and thanks for the reminder. And Oh Yes, Happy Birthday, the best going your way. Aloha
