Description

The Wirraway now joins its baby brother, the Boomerang, at ShareCG. http://www.sharecg.com/v/63557/view/5/3D-Model/CAC-Wirraway It remains a point of note that during the Second World War pilots flying Wirraway "trainers" shot down more enemy aircraft (ok, they got one) than those flying the Boomerang "emergency" fighter (zip...). RAAF Pilot Officer John Archer flying the Wirraway represented here, A20-103, surprised everyone though, including probably a very shocked Japanese fighter pilot, by shooting down a Ki-43 "Oscar." That's the kind of "good news" story the folks at home all needed in late 1942 and that might just have earned him an honour guard from a wing of bemused P40 pilots. Upon the arrival of lots of these lovely Warhawks... oh, yes, and eventually Spitfires too, both home-grown CAC aircraft types were quickly diverted to "army cooperation" flying- across the tree-tops of New Guinea. Rendered in Vue 8 Esprit of course, the P40 is Bazze's

Great Render.. Super detailing.. The info supplied in excellent as well... Thanks. The Boomerang turned out to be a very effective and tough ground attack aircraft even if it wasn't a brilliant fighter.. Needs must at the time.. Rob

Beautiful light. Makes for a dramatic but understated contrast. This also has a nice subtle feel of depth. Simple, but very effective!
