Description

I captured this critter in the Namib Desert in March this year. Funny story - I initially thought it was dead as it was lying motionless and allowed me to get very close. There were even little ants "eating" at its tail. I took about 40 photos when suddenly this dude decided that he had enough of posing and quicker than a flash of light ran away. I got such a fright that I landed on my butt... but hell - it was worth it! Thank you for popping in and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "my Girls Today".

A very cool looking lizard - his coloring blends in well with the ground, yet I can make out his details just fine. Also like the touch of color that the plants provide. Great shot & composition...

Excellent foto, Carin! It was lying out in the sun, just warming its innards as all reptiles are prone to do, and you both startled each other, lol! And, you fell on your bum? If that happened to me, I would have to be carted off to the nearest emergency room.
