Description
I have decided to do a series of some of the jazz greats I had been lucky to see in Detroit back in the early 60's. A bunch of us aspiring artists used to frequent a jazz spot called the Minor Key. Anyone familiar with the city might have been there. It was on the corner of Chicago and Dexter. And for five bucks you could hear the best of the best. It has been a little over a half century since I frequented its hallowed halls. First time I went was in 1961 and John Coltrane was debuting his album "Giant Steps." That night the drummer Elvin Jones did a solo that literally blew the place apart. This is for John and Elvin, wherever you are.

Superb dedi to a couple of the greats of by-gone days. Thankfully the music will be around for a long time even though the artists aren't able to stick around as long. Looking forward to the series!
