Hi there! My name is Victoria, and IĀ was born and raised in Los Angeles, California (but live elsewhere now).Ā I first became interested in computer graphics some time circa 1995 when my dad gave me this CD package of some new, up-and-coming computer software at the time which included Aldus Photostyler and KAI PowerTools.Ā I went home that day and created some silly little piece and after that I was totally hooked.Ā A few years later a friend introduced me to Photoshop, and it was love at first sight. Since then I have been teaching myself all things Photoshop.Ā About two years ago I came across an ad in a magazine for DAZ Studio.Ā I had always been a little intimidated by 3D graphics, thinking it was way too hard to do, but I decided to give it a shot anyways.Ā Now I'm equally obsessed (if not more so) with all things 3D as well.Ā
My art is a mixture of DAZ Studio, Poser, Photoshop CS5 and Filter Forge. My other tools of the trade include Hexagon, Silo,Ā ZBrush and Vue, and IĀ also do black & white digital photography and photo restoration on the side.Ā I am a huge fan of classic artists like Salvador Dali, Calder and Leonardo da Vinci, but am also strongly influenced and inspired by the works of contemporaries like Jack Pedota, David Ho, Luis Royo, Olivia and many of my fellow Renderosity artists who continue to inspire me on a daily basis.
I have several college degrees including a BA in English Writing, a BA in Anthropology, and an MS in Evolutionary Ecology (a subdiscipline of Anthropology).I think my ultimate goal with my graphics - what I really hope to get out of all of this - is to create something truly beautiful one day that either someone will deeply appreciate in their heart or that will inspire someone to create something beautiful. Thanks for stopping by . . . and happy rendering!V.

I wish the picture was bigger!:)And you didn't choose the easiest landscape either, with the waterfall. There is charm in your picture with the old photo feel. Keep on trying,my friend!

I applaud your efforts... I see some good things happening in this picture, it just takes time. I love seeing what people make in vue, but nature stuff I never really had a calling for - plus, I don't know enough about poser to even think about jumping into another program - lol

Looks good Vic!!!!

I donĀ“t think it stinks at all, The water fall looks just like a slow capture.

Looks good..nice place to be!!

Ahhh, Vue. You get a cool scene from cornucopia and get an amazing test render with a default camera and sky setting. You add a poser character move the lights and camera around and think "What the heck just happened to the scene?" One of these days, I'll learn to use that program properly.

I am still trying to master Daz ... lol.

Great effort. I know how you feel I didn't like my try at Terragen either.

Well tried and I value the way you did this. Landscapes are really something else and you did very well! Go for it because I know somebody how works very often in Vue and this is a terrific program by the look of the results.Carry on my dear! gr.Rudy.

I don't know about now, but Vue lighting was always difficult for me. I could never get anything to look anything but dry! I think the materials are more of an issue, and as easy as they seem to be, they're actually very touchy. In any event, nice work!

Very beautiful landscape and colors with a wonderful waterfall. You have the talent, it's confirmed with this picture. You just have to take time to improve your skill with Vue and then, I'm sure you'll be able to do some great artwork, as you do with Poser and DAZ Studio.

I think it's fabulous! Excellent work!

There's a lot to learn in Vue. When your own style unfolds you will know it. And others will to. This is a good pic.

I haven't opened Vue for so long... Work at it, though. Its worth it when you learn. It can create some wonderful scapes.

You are still far better than I am at it. This is a great scene with such a lovely waterfall, I haven't found out how to do that yet. Excellent work.

This is actually a pretty good picture, especially for a first try. I'll bet if you try playing with different kinds of lighting you'll quickly get something you love.

Excellent work.

Don't be hard on yourself, Vic! I think this looks great! I'm still stumbling around blindly in Vue 10 myself. It's a very "deep" application, and will take some time to learn - for both of us! There are a bunch of good tutorials for free at both DigitalTutor.com and geekatplay.com. I can SM you some settings that Art (adorety) helped me with if you like.

You made it a lot better than I could have EVER done!!!This looks pretty amazing to me!!!

Amazing vue, so exotic. Nice render. Well done

It's a good start and don't worry, you'll get more used to it the more you use it and will be making masterpieces soon enough!!
