Some of the farmers here do it as to feed the deer or what ever animals just to try to keep them out of the barns and some of them do it as to when deer season comes in they can have an easy shot at them but i do not approve of it but then i am not the lawman.

They do this type of crop tending here in Wisconsin for 2 reasons..One as a wind break for when winter comes it stops the drifting snow from reaching the road/highway or what not and for food for the critters like deer and so on.....(smiles)...
