Description

A lake, a lake of water on Athas, the world burning under the Dark Sun... A lake of deadly poisonous brine, the boiled-down remains of an inland sea, who's vapours and metal-salt kill all but the most foul and deadly of mutated beasts. The sands and salt deposits are thick with the remains of countless bones of foolish people and creatures thinking they have found nirvana: fresh water in abundnace In fact, so many have died over the millenia that the sand is perhaps as much bone as ground-down rock. The few who know of it call it "the Lake of Bone Mists" based on Planet Copperwine, iirc that's Armand Auseklis' creation? :) and on "Dark Sun" on of my fave Dungeons & Dragons settings
