Description

This picture says it all. We spent four days at the Kent show this was shot on the last day as I left the marque. It rained and It rained for three days and just as I was about to swop the van for the Arc it stopped but not before we had spent three days standing in this mess, We had to be towed in by a Land rover but had to be towed out by a very very oversized tractor thing.

I really like the lighting and POV on this one. There is just enough reflection of light on the mud to give it a nice shine but did not give areas of overexposure. The orange of the rose looks nice with the color of mud as well (if thats possible). Your POV is just right making me want to reach out and grab the rose. I also like the amount of mud splatter and smear on the rose. Just enough but not too much. Nicely seen.

Sad to lose the fleeting beauty and glory of this single rose, but by returning to the earth, it will share its self to help nurture another bit of life in the future. Marvelous shot with a story inside.

A wonderfully expressive image, Alan. I have often thought about you and the shows this terrible summer..
