Description
The Westland Lysander proved a versatile aircraft during WWII. Originally kitted out as a ground attack aircraft it was committed to the ' Battle of France'.However it fell easy prey to the German fighters, shot down in large numbers. It was then used as a Maritime patrol / Air Sea Rescue aircraft during the early days of the 'Battle of the Atlantic'.It would also serve as an observer / ground co-operation aircraft. However it is best remembered for it's roll as a 'Spy Taxi', a roll in which it was unsurpassed. It was the commitment to turning out so many of these aircraft that saw the early and untimely demise of the Westland Whirlwind fighter.

Great model Neil! I've been toying around with it and have had no problems so far :) Re-downloaded it as you've added more to the finished product. My M4 will be donning his trenchcoat and trilby hat for so nightime daring-do in occupied France soon :)

COOL! Nice job assembling and painting this Airfix mod..., er, what was that? NOT an Airfix model? How's that? You mean Tailspin? Can't be! Must be, .... OK. NOW I see it - the Neiwil in the logo! My, how could I make such a mistake? Oh, must be due to the long day and hard work. And, do I need new glasses? A T.Rex wearing glasses? Yup! You bet! Great looking, Neil! I, too, will visit the "usual place" (and I don't mean the out house! which is another "usual place" for a T.Rex). :-)

Great model. The presentation is very special. ;-)

Cool! There's something about the "Lizzie" that really appeals to me. Post-war, a few were used in western Canada for crop spraying.

Cool shot. I used to build model aircraft, mostly of the flying variety.

You've got to hand it to the guys who flew these into the Frenchg fields at night. Guts just doesn't describe it. The thought must have always been there that this might be a one-way trip. Great stuff Neil. rat.
