Description

Another one of the many varieties of the species, captured 7/17/12, early morning, within close proximity of my dedicated domicile. A ZOOM would be to your absolute benefit. Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known as hibiscus, sorrel, and flor de Jamaica, or less widely known as rosemallow. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. Source: Wikipedia free encyclopedia. There were several bushes just like this, literally teeming with these lovely blooms, so I had myself a field day with my Canon P&S, with tons/tonnes more pics in my files. Aloha, thankx for coming by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

This type of Hibiscus is so unlike the kind we grow here. This is what I have always known as Rose Mallow, although I know they are all in the same family. There must be thousands of types of Hibiscus, that's for sure. Love this color, and the collage includes fine pictures, my favorite being the second.

I like all five photos Harry and the best part about the resulting collage is that the purple tint, on these Hibiscuses, intensifies as the eyes go from top to bottom. Outstanding my friend!
