Description

Taken at the annual Rogue Valley Manor sale. The Rogue Valley Manor is a fancy, high end retirement community in Medford, Once a year, they hold a 3 day sale at the local armory. The items have been donated by the residents & the proceeds go to a charitable foundation. The range of items is pretty wide - original paintings, quilts, books, furniture, appliances, sporting goods, jewelry, etc. Since the residents of this retirement community are generally both old & affluent, there are some very quaint & nostalgic items to be found here if you're willing to sift through it all & there's always the chance that you might discover something truly rare & valuable (though this hasn't happened to me - yet). I find this much more satisfying than shopping for new, mass produced items in stores... Please zoom for more detail

what a fascinating concept, a potential treasure trove, and a first class all encompassing picture to go with it

Some of my more loved items have come from such a sale as this. I always look for treasures but I end up buying what I like and not so much what is valuable. :-) Fabulous postwork.

Looks like an interesting place and a good basic photo to begin with but I do think the effect was over used and think it might be far more effective if toned down a bit. Just my opinion though, perhaps it is exactly what you wanted.

Frankly, I like your over the top HDR effects. It's what pulled me into your site originally. Reminds me of how far you can push that envelope because you so often dance on the edge. Glad I was able to follow Whaleman on this.

whaleman: The HDR tonemapping style is one that some people like & others don't & it certainly isn't appropriate for every photo. In this case, the original photo is really nothing special & I didn't feel it was even worth posting without the benefit of this kind of postwork.
