Description

Well, I had some technical difficulties yesterday in the series off of "The Last Drop" that I am working on. (Thank you so so much for all your comments on that, as always, by the way - you guys have been so important to me in this journey I am on, building myself a portfolio and working consistently and honing my skills. Doubtful I would be doing it without all your support). The rendering just wasn't working out well, and the lighting on the WIP is a beast. So I got a little behind on the posting intentions, but that's ok - quality over quantity! (As long as I keep working consistantly and daily). So late last night I decided to do something rather quick and fun to keep my sanity. Im trying to step up my skills in lighting even while doing the fun things, however, and this was a decent learning experience. I knew the feel I wanted but wasn't sure what to call it, when a friend told me it the pillars reminded her of the pillars Boaz and Jachin (the pillars at the entrance to Solomons' temple), and the disembodied path could be the path to wisdom. I liked that! :) The background is another lovely background by Sveva, and helped this go much faster (thank goodness for her when you dont want to spend all day creating your own background, right?) And thank you Fabi for the stepping stones found in the free section. Thank you guys so much for stopping by and again, for all the support. This week has been so much fun getting to know so many of you!

Totally agreed. You can't make a render happen every day if sometimes it takes so many hours to render. But you CAN keep a daily routine and that IS the important thing because right in that pocket is the well of inspiration. You've done a beautiful work here. I love the concept, it's as though you're documenting your own artistic journey and, by extension, taking the rest of us along. :)

Well done. The directional lighting is much better in this one. The rim ligting is spot on and the well defined boundaries highten the drama. You also worked with a concept here and it is good that you have your character stepping into the light.
