Description

"The Westland Lysander Mk I was a British army co-operation and liaison aircraft produced by Westland Aircraft used immediately before and during the Second World War. After becoming obsolete in the army co-operation role, the aircraft's exceptional short-field performance enabled clandestine missions using small, unprepared airstrips behind enemy lines to place or recover agents, particularly in occupied France with the French Resistance help. Like other British army air co-operation aircraft it was given the name of a mythical or legendary leader, in this case the Spartan general Lysander." From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In this render, an Allied agent is scurrying off into the brush. His briefcase holds his radio. While the Canadian Pilot-Sergeant waits impatiently, members of the local French Resistance are picking up boxes filled with rations, ammunition, and medical supplies. Another female member of the Resistance stands guard. As soon as the boxes are out of the way, the pilot will be out of there. Sometimes, an downed Allied flier or an another agent would be climbing aboard for the trip home to England. However, not tonight. Time on the ground would be very short. I can't imagine trying to land in the dark without lights. No wonder they preferred nights with full or nearly full moons. _____________________________________ This one's for you, Neil. Great scene, although you might have gone a bit more blue with the lighting seems a bit "warm" for moonlight.

So cool!, I think I would have been a spy, just jump out and run off into the night....leave all the 'humping' of heavy boxes to the locals :-) Really nice night scene here, great composition and pov...glad you like the 'Lizzie', and thanks for the mention, that's always appreciated. (I shall address the matter of the 'opening' canopy ASAP, time was short and my first attempt ended with a collapsed mesh. This is actually the 3rd fuselage and I decided to leave well enough alone, until time permits an upgrade.)
