Description

'Nuff said.... My heart goes out to all the Colorado victims and thier families. What a senseless act. It's been a heartbreaking week in more ways than one. We've finally had to put my dad in a nursing home. He had been staying with his sister, my aunt Esther. His mental state has declined to the point where he doesn't even recognize her anymore. I haven't been to the nursing home to visit him yet, as I'm hoping he'll start to acclimate to his new surroundings. Weather he will know who I am when I see him is another question. In his mind, I have sold the house and moved away... Thanks for dropping by. I hope to have some more uplifting things to post soon - I'll be getting back to work on the TNA series - tomorrow, I hope. It's just been a busy and emotionally draining week. Batman outfit by Ice-Boy - thank you! Hope you all are having a good weekend!

My dad went through that stage too, where he accused my brother and I of selling his home and all his property. Now, in the good moments he thinks he is on the farm of his youth and asks me how the weather is up north though I live only a few miles from him. As their condition evolves they start to reel back the years, forgetting the most recent memories first. The irony is that the kid who did all the killing was able to buy everything perfectly legally. Including buying an asualt rifle, 10 of 1000 of rounds of ammo and a 100 magazine. I mean who the F... needs a 100 round clip for sport shotting? This nation is totally F...ed when it comes to guns. And you know the NRA keeps saying if we have an armed citizenery someone will take out a guy like this when they start shooting. But how come it never happens? How come in gun crazy Colorado no one in the audience had a gun and shot the guy? I think it is because the neocons are the first ones running in situations like that.

I feel ya Rob. My mom is in declining health herself, but in good spirits. She's been "diagnosed" with cancer in her lungs and has started chemo. By the way, where's the Bat Cape? LOL

A moving tribute, Rod. Nicely done. I'm sorry to hear your dad has come to the point where he needs to be in a nursing home. At this stage it's the best place for him. A sad choice to have to make for sure, but the right choice. My heart is with you, my friend. Hugs to you and Jo.

my X's mother went to see her Mom with alz. at the hospital, she didn't know her own daughter and when she tried to move in for a hug she was slapped and said she didn't know her.... the mind is so much of who we are, I wonder if the sould leaves the body and moves on while the body is left in limbo.... Remember who he was and when you see him expect the worst so it's not as hard on you. ....can't wait to see the court crap on this Batman Movie Massacre tomorrow... Since I live here in Colorado, that's all that they've had on the news for days... so, I'm expecting a live show of the whole court scene - just don't know what time it's scheduled for... should be interesting... I've never heard of someone getting the Death Penalty here in Colorado, but this guy should be fried = it was premeditated for at least months... He should of gone and gotten help. I hope he likes ballogna sandwhiches - NOT!

This is a beautiful and touching image Rod. Yes, I do live in Denver and as Mike said, it's all in the news here all the time. It's very upsetting and disturbing. I'm with Roxy - a single person buying all of that ammo alone should have set of red flags. There needs to be some sort of cross-talking database where these purchases are logged that are made on line - and for explosives components as well. One single person buying all that should ring alarms. Apparently they've gotten most or all of the explosives out of his apartment, because they were detonating them yesterday out where they do by a friend of mine's mom's farm. I'm so sorry about your Dad hon. I hope you can get to see him soon and it isn't too traumatic. Big hugs :*

A very emotional work and a great dedication to all the theatre goers. Such a tragic event and so many killed and wounded. It will be very hard for you to visit your beloved father in the nursing home and not have him recognise you sometimes and other times be quite his usual self. It takes you on a very emotional journey.

Rod.....I'm so sorry to hear about your Father, my thoughts are with at this time.. Stay as strong as you can, if only for others. It can be hard to do that.. I know, I did it, but it helps others.. But help yourself if you feel you need mate.. Talk to others.. I am 'with' you.. I'll keep comments about the pointless shooting short, not because I don't feel for the people killed, no.. But, because while I can agree that IF you wish to own 'A' (singular) gun for your defense, why on all things almighty do you need an arsenal, including a assault Rifle.. And WHO sold it to him and never noticed this guy had so much hardware! WTF! Oh well.. And the really SAD thing is... It WILL happen again, because......they got guns so easily and legally.. They are not here.. Sad.. Both your Father and the killing Rod :-( Rob

Hoping you find both the time and strength to weather through and don't place guilt onto your shoulders as if you know in your heart you've done all you can then don't beat yourself up to the point of painting yourself into a corner..Myself and my brothers and sister(my sister is a register home giver) helped with my own dad until we could physically not without assistance and realized we weren't helping anymore. We went through all the ropes with turning his home into his private nursing home during all his last years and tried our best until it wasn't good enough. It's really hard and won't lie to you that is was one of the most heart disabling things we ever had to agree on.Afterwards we realized we did all we could we felt it was the right thing to do and I believe my dad knew we did all we could and would have wanted to tell this to us if he could have...he was 76 years young and strong as an ox .....unfortunately his mind wasn't at the same level...not even close and I can relate and understand what you must be feeling and just know you have friends here that are thinking of you... My ears are always open 24 hours a day...(smiles)... As for your tribute above....You should get this image out and display it everywhere you can because this really is a moving image Rod...Made my eyes swell with tears....
