Description

Hi Friends, This is "Chicken in the wood", we have eaten yesterday. It is really delicious, along with many other herbs and vegetables. Because of the rain here, it was found earlier this year. It grows on the trunk of old trees. And fresh it is very tender and soft. I had not taken everything of it, more than half I have left on the tree. Laetiporus sulphureus: The Chicken of the Woods. Dutch: Kip in het bos. The name is because it tastes like chicken-meat. But I prefer the 'wood-chicken' :D Thank you very much for your lovely comments on my earlier upload!

Great shot of the fungus. I have often toyed with the idea of growing a good wood mushroom or maybe some Morels. Harvesting the wild edibles is a great way to eat naturally.
