Description

So, I know it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything. This was mainly due to life circumstances – health problems mostly. I've been laying low and not feeling up to doing anything artistic. Thankfully, that particular haze seems to be lifting. To try to get back into the swing of things, I worked on something fun, which was inspired by a pencil sketch I found online of the Hulk. Props go out to Geoff Shaw, who was the source of inspiration for this piece. The base render was extremely basic and the rest of the process was a whole lot of overpainting in Photoshop. Believe it or not, this is just M4 with a custom F4/M4 morph applied. I don't think one iota of this was not touched. Also big thanks to Xaa for helping me out by making two Stonemason props into morphable figures. Quite happy with how this turned out. I definitely pushed myself to do things a bit differently and, hopefully, better than I have before. Of course, this was only a little inspired (okay a lot) by the fact that the Hulk in the Avengers completely changed my view on the character. He really is farking awesome! PS. Its good to see you back in action. I recently looked at some of your work and like what I see. One thing I'd like to know how to do is effects. I feel like I can create good action scenes IF I was anywhere near as good as this. I mean your render looks like it was done with a better engine than Firefly. I use Poser 7

Thanks everyone. The kudos are much appreciated. @Cyberdene - this is Firefly engine. I am using Poser Pro 2012, which does help with doing IDL (indirect lighting), plus I used an M4 Elite skin as the basis for the Hulk texture, which I did from scratch (mostly just tonal changes). The big difference was the use of Photoshop after the fact - in particular on overpainting the skin to get a finer specular, pores and a sweaty sheen, as well as increasing/defining the musculature. I use Poser to get the basis of what I want to work on and then do the rest in post-work. I recommend any of the 'Ron's' brushes, by Deviney, to help with effects. I did paint some by hand, but otherwise this is just a smattering of Deviney's brilliant brushes. Really essential for quick additions of everything from magic to smoke.
