He is gorgeous, but they do like to hang around close to feeders. :)))) Very smart he is. :)))) Most excellent capture my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :)))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))

Excellent capture! :) All you can do is take the feeder down for awhile and hope it goes and finds another spot to hunt.

did you see the video from Alaska where a lady's two cats are more or less playing with 3 eagles and a very young fox?it was so strange seeing the eagles not grabbing the cats for food I would love to get this close to a hawk. they fly over my house daily but never land.outstanding capture

We were watching the sparrow hawks today during the countryside run to the vets, they are always on the go looking for food, such a shame that he has to prey on those you try to feed. Great shot, thanks for sharing hugs Jane xx

They are indeed very clever and smart! Andrea is right though... they have to do what they gotta in order to survive. Survival of the fittest is so very real and true! A great capture of this lovely hawk! He looks so focused and concentrated!

A beautiful shot and lovely markings on the Hawk!

Hopefully he is on a migratory route and will only be around for a short while.

Ironically you have created the problem by having a feeder, and I have done the same thing myself. You could try putting the feeder in a different location for a while. someplace a bit more open so the little guys have that extra moment of warning and can escape.

Yes, whaleman has the right idea.. The problem is a 'man made' thing.. Happens here, then people moan that Hawks take the small birds that are sitting targets and not doing what they normally do.. SO, get two feeders OR more, the more the better! Confuse the Hawk, they are VERY territorial, you will only get one at a time! Don't worry.. But remember, if you kill it, another will take up the territory.. Killing does not work.. Nature finds a way... So more tables or none.. Great shot by the way.. Hope I've helped? Rob

beautiful!

Beautiful bird and great capture! I think Wayne and Rob are right.Give the little birds a chance and let the hawk alone. He is doing what it should do, because he was made for that!
