Description

Sally Ride was the First Lady of Americas space program. She was the first American woman in space and passed away today of pancreatic cancer at the age of 61. In 1983, she blasted into space, on the Challenger space shuttle, at the age of 32. She had a second Challenger flight in 1984. An old photo and zoom works well! I was infected with a nasty virus Friday, scrubbed my hard drive clean, fired up my external drives and rebuilt my laptop from scratch. A 20 hour marathon followed by 10 hours of sleep. My mind is still very angry and I do not understand why virus creators do not put their talents toward something that would benefit humanity. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

A beautiful dedication to this very brave woman, it must take a lot of courage to go into space. You sound to have had a nasty virus on your computer but I'm glad you were able to fix it. I wouldn't know where to start. I agree that the virus creaters could do so much good for the world instead of causing so many problems.

Very beautiful and touching dedication to Sally. Now she is free to soar the universe, unhindered by the earthly coils that keep us grounded. Ride, Sally. Ride!

Nice dedi Dana! I understand the problem as I am still working around a virus and have yet to take my new computer out of its box where it has been sitting for a month already! If I had the fellow that created that virus here with me right now, he would never make it out of this room alive! I think they are like some of the trolls on this site who spread their venom but never post anything themselves. They are people who cannot create anything and resent those who can, so they try to build themselves up by bringing others down to their level, but they are too stupid to recognize their ploy never really works.

Lovely shot and dedi, Dana; glad you survived the virus. I'm with the hate-mob who'd have the virus builders on a pike!

An outstanding photograph in dedication to an outstanding woman, Dana. I thought at first that when you mentioned virus that you had come down with an influenza bug of some sorts, but still able to fix your computer.
