Oh no... not ol' 44... ;-) vapour trail, smoke and flame effects look spot on- I particularly like the white curl of smoke, looks very dynamic- as if something important just blew up. What it needs are splashes in the water though, from falling debris? And also raytrace the reflection of the flame on the water surface- in fact that much fire needs a yellow-white point light associated with it to illuminate the side of the cruiser. What do you think? Thats an awesome firestorm!

Great image, but I think the DD-44 was a Cassin-Class destroyer used during the First World War. This one looks like a Fletcher class, which started with the number DD-445 (the DD-444 was a Gleaves-class, named USS Ingraham - sunk as the result of a collision with a tanker off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1942).

That´s correct !! I insist you are an expert, is amazing your knowledge of WW II, but this is other war mistery... some documents register 2 ships numbered DD-444. One sunked in Nova Scotia as you said correctly, and the other in south Philippines in ´44. Then... what happened there? Bravo dear !!!!!
