This is one of those shots that is both abstract and concrete, and you've created something exceptionally elegant! I would say that the composition (as well as the subject matter) lends itself to this kind of treatment, and I also think that doing this in monochrome heightens the emotional vibe. Color is fantastic, and I love color, but monochrome does play with the emotions a little bit more, and usually in unexpected ways. The textures are fantastic, and I love the contrast between the bark textures and the smoother seed. The fact that the seed isn't centered in the image makes it all the more compelling! When you've got a subject like the seed, presented off-center, things get really interesting, as they've done in this photograph, and I have to say that your photography is amazing in general, but this piece is outstanding. Brilliant work.
