***Please full-view for detail*** One of my favorite images... ever! My usual three light set-up was used for this shot: Two Canon 580EX II flash heads in 2 meter high strip boxes with grids on as the back lights and a 60cm Ring Light as main light. The back lights were about a meter away from him but I didn't put them too far back, so he was kind of standing in-between the two lights but slightly in front of them. With this light set-up the best thing I have found is to move the model backwards and forwards until you get the right amount of rim-light for the look you want. You can also rotate the lights away from the model to get a different look by using the fall-off light from the strip boxes for slightly softer light.
