Pigeons are such amazing birds! Of course we like to think of them as dirty, as a little bit too urban...as poop machines...but when we look at them for what they are, we see that they're related to doves and that they're as beautiful as this one here; I think when we think of pigeons as dirty, it's because we have made them dirty; I like them, however, and I don't mind when they act like pigeons and do what pigeons do. I simply avoid walking underneath their backsides. I love the pose and that eye. It's quite intense. This is really nice!

They are very sweet birds! I used to hold them often as a youngster because some neighbor had a shack with lots of them and he let me hold them and pet them. Were it not for him I would surely have missed that experience and would perhaps have a different view today. There is nothing quite like holding a cooing pigeon, and if they crapped on me I don't remember it.

What a beautiful pigeon and super capture. I once cought a tame pigeon. It was quite exhausted after getting out of the normal rute. I cought it with a bycicle basket and some food, a long string and a stick, LOL! Sitting on the stairs of the house, I had the basket upside down in the garden about 50 steps away, open by a stick with a string on, just like in the cartoons. When it went in under the basket I pulled the string. Then I took it and read the number on its ring around the leg and called the homing pigeon association. It was fun :)
